the Egyptians believed that the sun god Khepri, a form of the sun-god Re, rolled the sun across the sky and brought it back each new day. Like the scarab rolls its dung ball back to its burrow to lay its eggs in, Khepri brings life when he rolls out the sun.
Copernicus was the astronomer who gave us our planetary model today and brought to light that we are revolving around the sun, not it revolving around us.
