Curator’s Statement:
She’s across the pond. Which way is that? This way… No, that way! Well, no matter which way you need to go, this tee will point you in the right direction. Wrong Way!‘s simplistic contradiction is bright, and creates a sharp contrast on this red “STOP SIGN” colored tee. I’d say that’s a good reason if you find yourself lost while wearing this shirt!

What was the inspiration behind this piece?
I just wanted to do something that was a little confusing, using a central idea that’s contradicted by it’s own elements. It’s a theme I’ve got a few various takes on, but this was the original - a giant arrow made up of little arrows pointing the other way!
Tell us a little about Digsy. What’s it like to be a day in the life of Digsy?
I work for a big Film VFX company in London called Cinesite. I’m in management and unfortunately I’m not one of the cool kids who gets to make amazing creatures and buildings and blow things up on their computer, but it is still pretty amazing to be part of and see the awesome work we do on the big screen. That all said, in 6 weeks time I’m packing up and going traveling with my husband for 18 months so no more work for me, yay!
How did you get into art?
I’ve always been a bit keen on the art stuff with varying success - it started when I was a kid and I used to copy cartoons from the TV, moved to me getting a diploma in animation and now results in me occasionally sell paintings on places like Ebay and Etsy, and of course the t-shirt thing which I love.
Am I correct that this is your first t-shirt print at any of the shirt-a-day sites? And if so, how do you feel to see one of your pieces go from concept to print?
(Actually I’ve had a print on RIPT so this is my second shirt-a-day print). It’s always awesome to see my work in action - there’s no better feeling than knowing other people like your work enough to boldly emblazon it on their chests and the thrill of seeing one on a random stranger in the street is pretty amazing!

Finally, how’s the weather treating you?
Awesomely! The sun appears to have finally found London, although how long it will last who knows! I’m definitely a summer child - I look and feel better than in winter and I HATE being cold. Hence the plan to spend the next 18 months on various beaches and sunshine climates around the world!
