Artist Interview: Crushem
Resident Tee Nerd Statement
Deep down we're all a little wild, how many of us out there didn't want to run away from our parents on a camping trip and go all "Lord of the Flies." Wild Child takes me back to the days of throwing spears at the other campers and wearing little skulls for underwear, but you don't need these totally normal memories to enjoy such a great shirt. Go ahead, buy a couple and bring out your inner Wild Child.
Give us some background on this Wild Child.
Just a random brain fart I had. I think there's some influence from LOST going on here though.
Tell us all there is to know about the great Crushem, did you study art? where do you live? What does a usual day look like for you?
Well I did art breifly in high school but sucked at drawing pots and pumpkins so I skipped most classes. I'm born and raised in Hamilton New Zealand / Aotearoa. A usual day would go something like this... Gym, work (also at the gym), sketch, read, sleep. I also try to slip some gaming in there any chance I get. I'm pretty boring.
Did you have any childhood fantasies that you still have today?
I've always wanted to be a Ninja or at least get The Glow (watch "The Last Dragon" to learn more about that).
If you woke up to find every human besides yourself gone, what would you do?
Build a fortress in case whoever took em all comes back for me. Aside from that...maybe go and let all the animals at the zoo out.
