Artist Interview: AtomicChild

Curator’s Statement:

Refreshing and unique, Seven Seas is an obvious AtomicChild piece to grace t-shirts this season. It’s remarkably relaxing and calming, yet shows the power of oceans when most turbulent and angry. This departure from Jimmy’s other works is even more of a reason to showcase it here for all Tilteers to purchase.

So what was the feeling that pushed you to create this design?

I was in a rut and drawing kinda the same imagery so I wanted to switch it up with a nature themed illustration.

Atomicchild, you seem to be a big name in these parts. What would you say your best design has been and why?

I wouldn’t say big name, but thank you very much. I would say my best design to date is my Four Year Strong Skull design. The design has been selling well and is now in Hot Topics all over America.

What do you find is your biggest struggle when designing?

My biggest struggle is poor art direction.

Do you have any favorite artists you stalk?

I am not much of a selective stalker….I kinda of look at a ton of artwork everyday.

What advice would give to other designers out there?

If you not prepared to give it your all everyday….you may not want to go into designing.
