Artist Interview: Omnitarian

Welcome back, as always, Omni. Have you been up to anything exciting lately that you’d like to tell us about?

Err… I wish I could but things have been pretty boring up here. I’ve started my first semester of grad school which is not as fascinating as you might think.

Just recently, you participated in a live walk through of Earthbound. Tell us about this. What are some of your other favorite games?

The live playthrough of Earthbound was masterminded by my good friends at http://www.fangamer.net. To drum up love for Earthbound, they had various members of the community stream themselves playing the game, bit by bit each night. My favorite games are too many to list, but I always have a soft spot for the Pokemon, Kirby, Zelda, and WarioWare series. I guess I’m just a big Nintendo nerd at heart.

What are your favorite forms of wildlife?

Any bird or mammal I guess, although that’s a pretty broad selection, huh. A few years ago I went on a trip to the southwest, and basically seeing anything other than a cactus or a pine tree was cause for celebration. Incidentally, the “do not feed the wildlife” signs I saw on that trip were the inspiration for this design.

If the 12 days of Christmas had a gift catalog, what would you most hope that your true love would give you, and why?

I think 5 gold rings is the obvious choice. Because let’s face it, if somebody gave you live exotic birds or a small team random laborers for Christmas, you would probably call the cops.

You’re offered a cameo role on a television show of your choice. Which do you pick, and what sort of character do you play?

Live TV is pretty awful nowadays, so I may have to go with being a voice cameo on one of the good new Cartoon Network series (Adventure Time, Regular Show). I’m not sure I’m a very good actor though, so maybe I’d just spout off some throwaway line. “Here’s your coffee, sir!” or something like that. I think I could pull that one off.

Anything awesome we should be looking forward to in the new year?

With my art lull, I’ve developed a huge backlog of shirt designs ideas that I want to tackle over the winter break. So look forward to some funny and interesting stuff coming from me these next few months. Hopefully.
