So here it is, the RandyOtter Otter. What's this little guy's story? Would you say this is a self-portrait in some way?

This little guy was in fact part of a sneaky plan to get an otter tee printed and now thanks to Tilteed my evil plan is complete!

Your simple yet original ideas, paired with your unique style, seem to bring you exponential new successes every time we see you. What would you say has been the biggest secret to your success? What's the next big goal for you?

I guess the biggest secret to my success is simply relentless hard work and practice, I try and make a little bit of progress every day no matter how small just so I feel like I have got something done.

My next big goal is to have a published children’s book, I have planned out a big summer project so I can try and make this goal a reality so hopefully it all goes to plan.

How does your approach on an imagery-based design like this one differ from how you approach your more humorous pieces?

With images like this you do not have the pressure of trying to get the audience to understand a concept or an idea so you can just work towards making something that you feel looks nice which can be a real nice change after working on a string of conceptual ideas.

Along with your affinity for animals, we've seen a number of your pieces pass through here featuring anthropomorphic buildings. If such things existed, what sort of personality would your dream residence have?

I would love to plan and build my own house at some point, the personality of it would be ridiculous hilarious and dangerous in fact it would probably have to be taken down a week after it’s built for safety matters...

The RO3K style just screams feel good times and optimism. Do you have any dark secrets you're hiding behind all the sunshine and smiling otters?

Haha well there are a lot of dark secrets but they are staying secret so you will just have to assume I am a super happy sunshine kinda guy!

Let's say a collection of your work was published as a book, and found centuries from now by a future civilization. How do you think they'd interpret it, and which design do you believe they'd devote the most time to understanding?

I think they would perhaps interpret it as the sugar hyped doodling of a rather “special” kind of person with a strange and confusing view of the world. I think they might give the most attention to a fairly recent piece of mine http://www.flickr.com/photos/randyotter/5748303035/in/photostream/ I can imagine them trying to decipher the meaning behind it.

Finally, some words of wisdom for our masses, if you would?

It is incredible what a positive mindset can do for you so stay happy, believe in yourself and you can literally have anything you want!
