LITTLE RED RIDING BUG
Artist Interview: bsweber
Resident Tee Nerd Statement
If you're anything like me, you've been, how to put this, a bit unplugged recently. For me, it's made me appreciate nature a lot. I don't overly miss being wired, but instead have been quite fond of enjoying the beautiful weather that comes post-storm. But it is important for us all to remember that even the most innocent bits of nature can, indeed, be pure evil.
It's been a long time since we've last seen you. What have you been up to?
Hi Tilteed! Thanks for having me again!
Lately, I’ve been dodging earthquakes and hurricanes in my ever so treacherous home state of Delaware. And by ‘dodging,’ I mean I took a trip to Oregon.
Tell us a little bit of the backstory on this design. What inspired it, and what do you think is going on in the image's "story".
I think it’s simple a representation of the timeless, ‘over the hills, and through the woods to grandmother’s house’ story. With bugs. And a wolf-o-thromorphic plant. My, what big leaves you have!
Think of “Its’s a Bug’s Life”—but for fans of Mother Goose and less-than-stellar special effects.
What got you into art originally? What/who inspires you most?
As one of nine children, ski lessons weren’t really an option. Here! Try drawing a mountain instead! I think most of my inspiration probably comes from that same childhood.
Let's say a big-time publishing house is issuing a new edition of classic literature (in this scenario, people still buy books, obviously). If you were to submit art for a new cover, which work would you choose, and what would the image look like?
Dang, that’s a tough question. There are so many I’d love to do—whatever the case, I’d want to do something stupid/inconsequential/silly for some great/serious/profound book, just to even it out a bit.
Name three people you'd most want to see wearing a tee of yours, and why.
Groucho. Harpo. Chico. Because, jeez. I thought those guys were all dead. Woo--eee! What a crazy world!
September is "Back to School" month. What is your best advice for the returning student?
Try to time back to school with a natural disaster--like a hurricane, for instance. They’re likely to postpone opening day. Use this extra time to preemptively cram for finals.
Any last words for the fans?
Thanks so much for checking this out today, I hope you like it! Keep yer chins up!

That design with Saturn spinning the vinyl is ace. I’d buy five of those… rather, I’d buy one and wear it five days out of the week, but the point remains…

Ah! I was hoping for this design forever, but I’m about to move and don’t have an address to ship it to! I’ll have to wait until Tilteed Classics I guess.
