Artist Interview: Omnitarian

Welcome back to the site, Omni. How’ve things been going since we last saw you?

Pretty good! By the time you’re all reading this I’ll have graduated and begun preparations for my next chapter in life: grad school halfway across the state. The more things change the more they stay the same, I guess.

Last time, you brought us underwater, where there are epic sharks. Today, we’re in the sky. What’s so awesome about the sky?

All sorts of things. Tornadoes and UFOs live in the sky, and they’re pretty cool. Plus without the sky, where would Lucy go with all those diamonds?

You’re definitely making a name for yourself as an awesome cartoonist. Who are some of your favorites on paper, and what are some of your favorite cartoons on screen?

I was huge into the newspaper cartoons when I was younger: my favorites were Bill Amend’s Foxtrot, and of course Gary Larson’s Far Side and Bill Watterson’s Calvin & Hobbes. My favorite animated cartoons are… pretty much every one ever made… but as far as current series go I can say that I always tune into Chowder, Flapjack, and Adventure Time whenever I can.

As an omnitarian, impress us with some of the crazy stuff you’ve eaten.

My username is actually quite a misnomer, because I’m a pretty picky eater. However, I did try Rocky Mountain Oysters when I visited Colorado the other year. Genuinely tasty!

Drawing balloon people is one thing, but can you make balloon animals as well? Do tell us more!

I’ve never tried! If it’s anything like origami, though, I might have a knack for it.
