We’re really excited to be overrun by Plopps today. We’re even more excited to get a chance to talk to stickathing about Chomba and Plopps.

Tell us a little bit more about this design and its inspiration.

TschombaPlopps are crative molecules that are ploppin’ in my creative mind. I show my love for round and curvy shapes, those bubbly triangle hams were plopping so much in my head, that I had to illustrate them. Tschomba or Chomba is like an attitude, a word for cool, sweet, fresh, nice or just hello. I like happy and abstract shapes, bubble throw-up graffiti letters generally gave me lots of inspiration for this illustration.

Besides t-shirts, what’s your favorite product/medium that you’ve designed something for.

I made a great LP cover for 1000names from Bulgaria. A sophisticated, leftfield, electronic, Hip Hop band that make amazing abstract beats. I designed the CD digipack and the LP sleeve and it’s amazing to see your artwork on a huge LP cover. I really enjoyed this project.
I also always enjoy to paint walls with my buddies.

Where do you call home?

Actually my home is Chombalandia, where everything is chomba all day, it could be anywhere, but at the moment it’s in Berlin, Germany. Home is where I feel chomba, maybe it will be in brazil or another country one day

What was the last movie you watched and what did you think of it?

To be honest I am not a big movie watcher, my TV is even not connected. I am watching TV via my iMac. The last movie I really liked was “Y tu mamá también”, a mexican movie about 2 teenage boys that make a roadtrip to a coast, They took a sweet lady onboard, that seduced them both. They didn’t know that it was her last trip because, she later suffered of her ilness and passed away. It was a funny and sad movie. I really enjoy cinema latina, they have great movies and producers over there.

Any artists out there that you think aren’t getting enough attention right now?

There are plenty out in the world. I am recently a big fan of BOSQUE from Argentina and HALO CALO from Italy. My Berlin buddies of PEACHBEACH are an amazing artist collective whose art and design I really admire and last but not least my collab man DXTR form Düsseldorf, Germany. Of course there are plenty other artists.
