Tilteed's first collaborative t-shirt print features two amazing artists: Dxtr and Mike Friedrich. Dxtr drew the 'good' (blue) while Mike took care of the 'bad' (red). Be sure and check out the 'Making of The Final Fight' video in the interview below! Printed on a slate American Apparel t-shirt, The Final Fight is a 4 color, soft-hand print.

Tell us a little bit more about this design and your collaboration.

Hum, after some contact via the net and shirt-communities it was only a matter of time to find each other for a great collab project. During the last month we’ve got good friends, also outside of the net! But anyway, some words about the design: The mission was it to merge both styles within a strong theme. So we decided to show you the ultimate fight between heaven and hell. Dxtr mades all blue heaven parts, Mike the red hell creatures (like always ^^).

What’s type of process goes into a collaboration? Do you send the work back and forth many times, or just once?

Mike came up with the concept and Dxtr started to scribble his part on paper. Then it tooks months to get the other scetch part by Mike finished, haha. Then we both worked on it for about 2 days at the same time. So it was great to receive a screenshot of the status quo of each other every few minutes. At the end we’ve made a little “Making-of-Video” of all our screenshots (http://www.flickr.com/photos/dxtrs/3504536244/). Beside the dark theme we laughed a lot.

What’s your favorite medium to work in?

Dxtr: I enjoy working with a tablet but I prefer a good mural with my friends. Most of all, I like aerosol.

Mike: I love to use different ways for different results, but most of the time I start with a handmade illustration (all outlines). After scanning and digitizing i do the coloring with Photoshop or Illustrator, by using a tablet. But also I love to customize everything ... toys, walls, skate decks .... with cans, brushes and marker.

Are there any projects that you’re currently working on that you are really excited about?

Dxtr: I currently work for a German clothing brand and Iam very excited to get my first vinyl toy realised. Beside that I am about to finish my studies and working on a couple of illustrations.

Mike: Ouuuuuuu, yesss! Haha, sometimes I want to clone myself to get more things done. A lot of funny artsy projects I do right now. Some collaborations (f.e. custom guitar design with Peachbeach), some canvases (f.e. a cycle with 5 canvases full with thousands of freaky characters - the first is done, see it right below here, some new shirt designs will be finished and ahhhh my first vinyl toys will be produced soonest! And last but not least 1.5 month ago I’ve started also with a job as Art Director in one of Germans biggest Media Companies.
