Tell us a little bit about the inspiration for this design?

It all started when I was DJ in a club near Montreal, I was there every Friday night with this extremely boring crowd with beards and old Metalica shirts.  At first I was bringing keyboards and weird machines and giving heavy performances.  But as the weeks went by, I was hating it more and more.  The people were getting uglier and uglier.  I could here I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll on everybody’s lips.  Most of them had missing teeth and were glued directly under the beer tap. I saw a bird sneak up in an old guy’s beard to die (true). So I decided to prepare my sets in advance and use those 6 hours standing up on stage to design some wicked shirts.  What a bad d.j.!  Who cares, these guys were already drunk from last night.  So on that night I made Evasion because I really needed it!

Tell us about Oiseau. Where are you from? How many brothers and sisters do you have? What’s your favorite ice cream?

I’m not a bird but I really wished I could fly.  My unit name is Samuel Charrois, I’m a music teacher in an elementary
school near Montreal,  My students thinks I wear really cool shirts (I’m planning on starting a kid’s clothing label made by kids (lol) ).  When I’m not playing music, I’m probably drinking coffee in front of photoshop, (they make the best coffee).  I have one sister she’s weird like me only different.  She also thinks I wear really cool shirts, so sometime I buy her some.  But then my girlfriend thinks my sister wears really cool shirts so I have to buy her some too.  Basically I’m poor so I don’t really eat ice cream.  The last one I ate was a stolen coffee cream cup from the local grocery I had stolen to put in my neighbor’s refrigerator.

What other projects are you working on currently that you’re enjoying?

I’m currently working on a new set of designs using mostly watercolor based ink and vintage graphics, I love the impressions
that watercolor can make, I’m like a kid in artclass. here’s a sneek peek.  I’m also planning on taking over the world but first
I need another coffee.

How long have you been designing?

I think I opened Photoshop by mistake when I was 11 it took me about ten years too realize how wicked it was.

What’s the last concert you went to?

I went to see a couple of good concert this summer that I recommend you check out.  A couple of them are from
Montreal so lets kick it local! 

Patrick Watson is always in my top 3, he performed during the Montreal Jazz Festival
in a outdoor concert. Awesome composer, rich atmosphere, sweet voice.
