Tell us a little about the inspiration for this design.

I want to bring sexy back—in astronaut form. Astronauts must pull every second day. You could probably trace the spiritual inspiration to a few too many beers and a late night viewing of ‘Barbarella’.

How long have you been designing t-shirts and how did you get into it?

I’ve been into it for just over two months now. A friend of mine had some shirts made up for his band and that led to him pointing me towards (the now defunct) Tee Invaders. It opened my eyes to these whole communities of designers. I’ve been hooked since.
While I’m new to the t-shirt stuff, I’ve long been involved in varied creative pursuits. I studied animation at university and worked in the animation industry for a very brief period before throwing it in to work at a hotel on the Gold Coast (I got to ride around in a golf buggy!). I’ve since gone through a variety of art and non-art related jobs but always kept painting and drawing in my spare time. At the moment I do a lot of instructional design and multimedia at work (usually training packages), so the tee designs are great way to cut loose.

Describe the favorite t-shirt that you own.

It’s pretty offensive. I can only where it around the house. My second favourite is a Ratatat shirt with a big wildcat on it.

What other t-shirt artist do you wish you could be for a day?

I’m growing increasingly jealous of Alex Solis (alexmdc). He’s way too talented for one person. There’s also a local designer called Hanco (I live in Brisbane, Australia). I wish I could be him for a day purely so I could have access to the contents of his fridge (rum tallies!).

Would you rather be a shark or a dolphin?

Dolphin. They look like they have a lot of fun. Plus, I saw one beat up a shark. It was a cartoon, but it still counts.
