Tilteed News | Blog Submissions
Happy New Year, Tilteed fans! It’s 2010 and I’m back with a brand spankin’ new edition of “Print Me! Print Me!” Just to rehash what these posts are all about, “Print Me! Print Me!” is where I showcase some of my favorite Tilteed submissions. The fresh picks are more recent t-shirt design submissions, while the older favorites are those that have been up for voting for more than three weeks. If you see any t-shirt designs that you like, please be sure to go rate them in the VOTE section!

I think it’s fascinating how zebras have stripes. It would be even more intriguing to see these animals have stripes of beautiful blue and purple hues. Nicebleed does a wonderful job in composing a piece that throws pleasant colors into the binary palette of zebra colors. I love the drip effect in this image, instead of seeing different-colored stripes as many artists have done. This tee design is absolutely beautiful to look at, and it has a cool outer space vibe to it.

Finally, a shirt that shows some love for amazing Chinese food! If you’ve never been to a good dim sum restaurant, I suggest you find one so that you can experience the deliciousness. I just went earlier this week and this design hits the spot! What better way to show how much you love Asian cuisine than to wear a shirt with foods from all the popular little dishes that get pushed around on carts? The bun on top of the stacked containers is even staying that it loves you. How can you resist?

FBSAT JabbaFlopps by stickathing and FormatBrain

Please take me to Chombalandia, because I really want to go live with all these spunky characters! Houses with faces? Spiky, planet-like characters shooting out triangles? Sign me up! Stickathing has collaborated with FormatBrain to bring you this fantastic, colorful design. I only enjoy CMYK designs if the colors work well with the type of illustration, and this is definitely one of those instances! I also love that these colors are on a gray background, as opposed to the typical black or white tee. What a fun design!

I’m not exactly sure how I should go about explaining my love for this t-shirt design by cmarts. I could express how happy the scenery makes me feel or tell you how the shapes work well together, but no matter how I describe this submission, you’ll most likely think that I’m stuck in the anal stage of Freud’s stages of psychosexual development. Ah, poop.

Stormy Nightmares by Thunderpeel

This must be what the poor bunnies dream about on a regular basis. Instead of counting sheep, they’re counting the foxes that they must avoid during the daytime. What a nightmare it must be! Hopefully they have good dreams, too. You know…ones filled with lush green grass and beautiful flowers! Hopefully the storm will pass soon, so that these sweet dreams can take over.

What were all the famous monsters like when they were kids? Well, for starters, they were much smaller and cuter! Surely they all hung out. The graveyard was their playground! I love all of these characters in kid form, especially the little werewolf howling. I also love how the creature from the black lagoon is carrying a bag with a goldfish inside and how Dracula is sipping on a little juice box of blood. These details add a nice sense of individuality to these characters. I love how aflagg has turned scary monsters into quite the opposite in this t-shirt design!

Simply put, I love the way that this t-shirt illustration looks. The perspective is unique and the tee design tells a great story. I like how the money is flying out of the briefcase because it helps to lead our eyes from the top of the staircase all the way down to the bottom. This submission makes me want to find out what’s really going on. Whose money is it and where is it going? It looks like it could be a scene from an action movie!
Power to the People by Dathink

This t-shirt doodle is so intricate and I am constantly seeing things that I didn’t see after first look. I love how there is text in the design, yet our eyes aren’t automatically drawn to the words. Instead, the text kind of flows with the rest of the doodle and is just another piece to pick out from all of the little details. I have absolutely no idea what’s going on in this doodle, but that’s one of the reasons why I love this t-shirt design so much!

Although I have a feeling that beer was produced long before 1827, I love this t-shirt design for bringing together two chipper folks from different times. Socializing over a few drinks is enjoyable no matter what century you’re from! This looks like it would be a great graphic shirt to wear out to enjoy a round of drinks with friends, and the man and robot’s facial expressions make me quite happy when I look at this design. I would like it even more if the print were larger!

I like this t-shirt design mainly because it includes an elephant and not a crow or any other animal that is often paired with skulls in graphic t-shirt designs. While the skull is somewhat scary, the elephant is rather cute. This gives the piece a nice balance, and the design does not freak me out as skull designs often do. That’s definitely quite a feat!

Peanut Butter Jelly Time by DCAY
“Do the peanut butter jelly, peanut butter jelly, peanut butter jelly with a baseball bat!”
*SMASH*

I absolutely love this design! This obnoxious banana finally got what he deserved. It was amusing the first time that I heard the song, but it all went downhill after that. I’m glad to see that others share these same feelings!

This awesome t-shirt design makes me wonder if certain mushroom species are only poisonous after they are chopped up and prepared for consumption. Who knew there were mushroom spirits that came back to taint their remains with poison? This should be a good warning for those who go picking up random mushrooms, thinking they’re edible. These fungal ghosts do not look like they’re willing to spare anyone!

Deep Blue Destroyer by Omnitarian

In last week’s edition of Print Me! Print Me!, I included an older t-shirt design submission by Omnitarian. This week, he’s back with a fantastic new submission. I can’t even explain what’s going on in this illustration, but it’s just so neat to look at! It appears to be some sort of massive underwater ship with shark-like crew members. I love the brush effects in this t-shirt design because it makes this ship look like it’s down in the deepest depths of the ocean preparing for a massive attack. The shadows are great, and I love the light outline that is around the ship.

No matter how old you are, optical illusions are fun to look at. Adding an ostrich into the mix, however, makes them even better! This ostrich appears to have stuck its head down the wrong patch of grass. I love the extremely confused facial expression, and I think that I would have a similar look on my face if I poked my head in the ground only to come out somewhere completely unexpected. I also love how trabe added socks on the ostrich, with one sock falling down. I love small but noticeable t-shirt details like these!

This submission has an urban-vibe to it and I love that. There are some unique characters on this tee, and I love how they aren’t just all people or all monsters. The blue palette was a good selection, and I like the use of blue to highlight eyes and mouths. This group of characters does a great job in capturing the diversity of people who show up to parties. Especially on a rainy day, all that everyone wants to do is have a good time!
Combustible Prey by theinfinityloop

I’ll admit that since I’m a Leo, I am automatically drawn to shirt designs that deal with lions. It’s wonderful to see creative t-shirt designs involving these large feline predators. I love the texture of the steam coming out of this lion’s ears and how the metal strands composing the mane is well-detailed. The mechanical lion is drawn in a style that reminds me of steampunk art. It’s only fitting that he’s feeding on more coal in order to survive!
October has gone and November is here! This is the first Print Me! Print Me! of the month, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on the four tees below. Please check out these graphic t-shirt design submissions and send them some love in the form of votes and comments if you like what you see!

Singing in the Rain by Recycledwax

I absolutely adore Recycledwax’s illustration style, and this t-shirtdesign shows how fun his compositions can be. Although this piece only contains a few splotches of color, the colors are quite effective in their placements. I’m the kind of person who hates going out when it’s rainy, but with rain and puddles being so colorful, I don’t think that I’d feel the same way about being outside during a precipitation event!

Bright colors are bold and fun to wear and “Slummy” definitely has a loud color palette. The monster isn’t very scary, but that’s what I like about this character. I also like how the buildings have gradients that eventually fade into the shirt. Watch out as this gooey monster creates a path of destruction, leaving green slime everywhere!

There is already one koi fish tee in the Tilteed catalog, but this design is a different spin on the same subject matter. “Lucky Coi” by fallen is absolutely beautiful with its oversized print and watercolor textures. The colors on this tee are refreshing, and I love the natural feel to this piece. Koi fish are not nearly as big as whales or sharks, but in this design, this fish looks like it’s in charge of the ocean. What a sight that would be!

I have admired this design by Omnitarian for a while now. These balloons all seem to each have a personality of their own, with some being cute and friendly and others being ones that you wouldn’t want to mess with. I especially like the balloon with the mustache, monocle, and a floating top hat. He’s keeping it classy up in the sky! These characters are all unique and they show a nice range of emotions. I do wonder how the two dragonflies managed to get a hold of balloons so large!
